From input to JSON

Text entered in the editor, the built-in example, and files selected with the browser File API all follow the same processing path. The YAML parser reads the source as YAML 1.2 and returns a JavaScript value.

The value is then serialized as standard JSON with the selected indentation. Multiple YAML documents are represented as items in one JSON array.

Validation and errors

Parsing happens before output is generated. Invalid YAML does not reuse an older result or create a best-guess document.

Error messages retain available line and context details so you can correct the source and run the conversion again.

Copying and downloading

Copy uses the browser Clipboard API when permission is available. Download creates a UTF-8 Blob locally and gives it to the browser as a file.

The site has no account system, conversion history, or server endpoint that receives YAML documents.
